They seem to be gone. It's like they chose a nightmare from one of us and shared it.

It was a curse, as far as I can tell. A one-shot thing. I have no clue if they'll be back. Halloween approaches, so who knows?

Curses are known to last at least 24 hours; maximum 72. It has been progressively worsening throughout the month.

What usually happens on Halloween? I am unfamiliar with this occasion.

Yeah, I thought that, too. Closer to the thirty-first we get... wham-o!

Didn't have Halloween as a kid, huh? Well, what happens varies, but in the States kids dress up in costumes on the last night of the month of October and go from house to house askin' for candy.

It stems from an old tradition of appeasing the dead, since that night is, apparently, when the spirit world is closer to the living world.

And that is correct, though most people don't know it.

Legends often have basis in fact, but I find this proposition that Earth mythology is a reality to be difficult to believe.

[Not impossible, because Ginny Weasley is a witch and that's apparently a thing, but he is just about Science ok.]
